Getting Started with HTML and CSS
Software for creating web pages
A web page is simply a file written in HTML and all you need to get started is a simple text editor. You can use notepad that comes on all Windows PC’s but we’d recommend using something a little more powerful like Notepad++
If you visit the link above, download the .exe file and install the software, you'll be ready to go.
There is lots of software available on the market and you might be tempted to use an editor like Adobe Dreamweaver or Microsoft Frontpage but we'd recommend strongly that you use a simple text editor to start with as WYSIWYG editors can insert code into your markup that is non-standard and not required which can cause you more problems.
